Our Story: A Legacy of Protection in Honor of Earnest Brown

Earnest Care and Trust was founded with a deep personal purpose — to honor the legacy of Earnest Brown, a man whose life embodied hard work, ambition, and compassion for others. However, in his later years, Earnest faced a situation no one should endure: exploitation by those closest to him. Despite his strength and integrity, a family member took advantage of his trust, leaving him vulnerable in a time when he should have been cared for the most. The exploitation he suffered was a harsh reminder of the challenges many elderly individuals face, especially those who lack the necessary legal protections and support.

Watching her father’s struggle was painful for Patrina. Not only was Earnest dealing with the physical toll of chronic heart disease, but he also had to navigate the emotional and financial harm caused by those who sought to take advantage of him. This experience was a turning point — it sparked a desire to ensure that no other family would have to go through the same pain and hardship. Out of this desire, Earnest Care and Trust was born.

The nonprofit was founded to carry forward the values Earnest lived by: integrity, generosity, and care for others. Earnest Care and Trust seeks to protect and empower elderly individuals, just as Earnest would have wanted. By offering legal guidance, advocacy, and support, we aim to give seniors the tools they need to safeguard their rights and their futures.

Patrina’s mission is to prevent these kinds of injustices from happening to others by providing crucial legal services, such as the power of attorney assistance and insurance advocacy, that can protect seniors from those who seek to exploit them.
