Earnest Care and Trust was born from a deeply personal and painful experience — the loss of my father, Earnest Brown, and the devastating exploitation he faced in his final days. My father was a great man — hardworking, ambitious, and always caring for others. Throughout his life, he was known for his generosity and his unwavering commitment to helping those around him. Whether it was family, friends, or his community, Earnest was the kind of person who put others first, no matter the cost.

But in his later years, as his health declined due to chronic heart disease, my father faced a betrayal that no one should have to endure. A family member, someone we all trusted, took advantage of his vulnerability during the last days of his life. It was a time when my father should have been surrounded by love and care, but instead, he became a target for someone’s selfish gain. The emotional trauma this caused me and my family was profound. It was heartbreaking to witness the man who had spent his life caring for others be taken advantage of when he needed care the most.

For me, this experience was not just painful — it was a call to action. Watching my father suffer both physically and emotionally as a result of this exploitation opened my eyes to how vulnerable the elderly can be. It made me realize that countless other families must be going through the same pain, watching their loved ones struggle without the protection they deserve. I knew I had to do something, not just to heal from my own trauma, but to make sure no one else has to endure what my family did.

That’s why I founded Earnest Care and Trust — to create a legacy in honor of my father and to stand up for elderly individuals who are too often left vulnerable to exploitation and abuse. This nonprofit is my way of ensuring that seniors have access to the legal protection, guidance, and support they need to safeguard their rights and their well-being.

Our mission at Earnest Care and Trust is rooted in the values my father lived by: integrity, hard work, and an unshakeable commitment to caring for others. We offer services such as power of attorney assistance and elderly insurance advocacy, designed to empower seniors and protect them from those who seek to take advantage of their vulnerability. We also provide education and resources to families so they can better understand how to protect their elderly loved ones.

In everything we do, we strive to carry forward my father’s legacy. Earnest Brown was a man who believed in helping people, and through this nonprofit, I am determined to ensure that his compassion continues to make an impact. I want to create a world where elderly individuals are treated with dignity and respect, where they are protected from exploitation, and where their families have the tools they need to keep them safe.
